Aion has different crafting skills, not unlike other MMORPGs. These crafting skills are Alchemy, Armorsmithing, Cooking, Handicrafting, Sewing and Weaponsmithing. Each player can learn all six crafting skills but can only master one.

Crafting Skill Experts:

To learn a crafting skill, you need to visit the corresponding trainer for your race and pay an amount of Aion Kinah. Learning a crafting skill costs 3,500 Aion Kinah for the first level. Each skill level has an experience bar. After you reach maximum experience in that skill level, you can go back to your trainer to increase your crafting skill level, provided that you have the Aion Kinah for it.

Gathering Skills:

Aside from crafting skills, Aion also has two gathering skills. These skills are used to obtain the raw materials for your chosen crafting skill. Just like crafting, gathering also has a chance to fail, depending on your skill level and item level.

Gathering can sometimes take a lot of time and it might be more efficient to buy materials with Aion Kinah.

Gathering aether can be challenging at times because aethers can only be found in the sky, inside riftways. It’s always good to keep flight potions ready so that you won’t fall to your death in case you run out of flight time while gathering aethers.

Aether crystals can be extracted up to 5 times, unlike other resources that only give 3. There are only a few crystals for skill level 25 and below and you might have a hard time gathering if there are a lot of other players in the area.

Aion crafting is not as complicated as other MMOs like WoW, but it’s nice that it doesn’t require too much effort to reach the higher levels.

Gathering Tips:
- Keep all the refining stones that drop off monsters, you’ll need them when creating equipment

- Sell refining stones that you don’t need to other players on the auction house for a good sum of Aion Kinah. Some go for 1,000 Kinah and more.

- Try to get every gatherable item that you can, this will increase your skill level faster and reduce the chances of failure. You can also sell the stuff you don’t need.

Now that you know the basics in Aion crafting and gathering, you can effectively level up your skills and make useful items for your adventures in Atreia. You can even make some Aion Kinah on the auction house.

The most common reaction from these players was to laugh about how easy it was to make gold and how stupid people were for not doing it too. Most of them wouldn’t tell me their secrets, but slowly a few of them started to #@$%# and let me have little tips about what they were doing.

I Was Amazed

Their strategies were so stupid simple I was amazed I hadn’t thought of them first, many of them made money in places I had been to many times.

Many of them had “secret” places to find loot or materials that I had never been to.

Well to tell you the truth, leveling in Aion is a bit of work really. Not only do you need to figure out where the #@$% to go in the first place, you need to figure out the easiest way to get cash or Kinah as its known in Aion. Then there is the choice of what class to roll and many other exciting things to figure out.
