Sorcerer and Gladiators

December 1st, 2009 Traubster No comments
I will be leveling up one of these two classes very soon and I’m trying to gather more information about them so I can make an informed decision. IIt should also be noted that i’ll be able to fund these characters with a fair bit of kinah, so the toons gear will be pretty top notch. Please keep the "play what you think will be most fun" comments out, I’m just trying to get some information. I know there is no "best class", so no need to preach it to me.

Anywho, I’ll just post a basic template of the answers I’m looking for. Any extra commentary would be greatly appreciated. :)

Which one is generally better at:

Solo Abyss PVP:

Solo Rift PVP:

Small group (2-5) Abyss PVP:

Small group (2-5) Rift PVP:

Large group (6+) Abyss PVP:

Large group (6+) Rift PVP:

———————————————————-

Which one generally scales the best at level 50 with better and better gear?

———————————————————-

Which one is generally more desirable in group PVE, for both raids, and smaller instances such as Dark Poeta (speed runs?).

———————————————————-

Which one is a more efficient grinder/leveler?

———————————————————-

Are there any "class defining skills" that either of them have? As a chanter, I have soul strike at 42, and recovery spell at 45. Is there anything similar with the gladiator or sorcerer classes, in that gaining said skills makes a HUGE change in how the class plays/performs?

———————————————————-

Any other commentary you may wish to share would be greatly appreciated :) Feel free to answer any of the questions, you don’t have to answer them all. If you have anything else you’d like to add, I’d love to hear it!

Cheers!

Is Soul Strike really THAT good?

Level 33 at the moment on my chanter, which I’ve decided is going to be my first toon I take to 50. PVP is pretty painful at the moment, and while I’ve heard that level 42 really does make a huge difference, I sure could hear a few of you folks tell me it gets better to lighten my spirits.

-Cheers

What did you buy with you AP?

level 32 at the moment, and getting close to 20k abyss point. I have no clue if I should be saving all my AP or spending some of it on really nice upgrades (the gold boots for example).

What did you folks spend your AP on and at what level?

How do you like your assassins

October 26th, 2009 Traubster No comments
Yes, its another one of these threads….

-slightly different this time around though, I’m going to ask you to be very specific instead of just "do joo lyke yur class?".

I currently play a ranger – level 31 at the moment. He’s a lot of fun, but I’ve been having a very strong desire to level up an assassin as well. My question to all of you assassins out there, is this. What do you like about your class? What do you hate about it? Do you find it enjoyable? What level did you really feel like the class started to take off? How easily can you grind? How easily can you PVP?

Any information you are willing to share would help me a great deal. I just want to make a well thought-out, informed decision before I take the time to level up a character into his 30’s again (lets face it, its hard to get a REALLY good feel for how a class is going to be until you get past 25).

Help me snap out of it…..

October 26th, 2009 Traubster No comments
I’m having an INCREDIBLY strong urge to stop playing my 31 asmodian ranger, and reroll an elyos assassin. Assassins seem like a lot of fun, and I’m also feeling like being elyos for whatever reason…no clue actually.

I went from being PERFECTLY content with my ranger, then 30 minutes later, I have this insane urge to quit my ranger for an elyos assassin.

Help me snap out of it. Or if you think I should, then well…snap me into it lol.
