Aion Stuff

I could swear that every time i read about this Fear Shriek has no cap and you can fear as many targets as you want as long they are in the 15m radius of effect. i could SWEAR that i tested this many many times in PvE and MAYBE in PvP (usually my FPS doesn’t allow me to see well in sieges, and it’s rare when i find 6+ asmos tightly packed and i stay there watching which ones didn’t get feared.

Yesterday tho, i was rifting and in a couple occasions 20+ asmos, that were not really high level 35-45 and 3 or 4 50s were really tight together and when i used my AoE fear bomb, i counted 6 feared targets and like 15 resists. I mean i don’t have good gear, but failing 15 fears at the same time in a bunch of low levels doesn’t sound right to me. This patter repeated itself all night.

So was it was always like this? Am i seeing things? Is it capped just for PvP? Was it ninja patched? Or i just an idiot that never paid attention to Fear Shriek?

Like i said "I COULD SWEAR" but not any more… help!

Speaks for itself. That was doing the Brigadier Indratu Quest since we got inside the instance.

Sevi, the sorc was had 1.5kk total damage and the cleric doesn’t matter

Before anybody flames with "OMG your team is naab", they are pretty good at DPSing, maybe not the best gear but skill wise they are good.

I’m also thinking that they even got more DPS thanks to my Wall of Protection and my Blessing of Fire which i doubt counted to MY DPS. Maybe the DPS meter is wrong… but it seems pretty accurate.

That’s pretty much it. No matter how much i try, i can’t really find any SM video at high levels. In youtube almost 95% on the SMs videos are from level 40 or less. And I’m tired of watching Alaron’s, ProjectGalaxy’s and Theory’s videos (more like video because it’s almost one from each) over and over again (I like them… but 100 times is enough lol).

Usually i like to watch other people playing my class because i learn new ways to do things, ponder new techniques that i never tried before, or simply new skills builds that i never though of combining. I don’t know if it is because i suck at finding them, or it’s because we are the underdog in popularity, but i don’t have any problems to find Sorcerer/Cleric/Sin videos at 40+. Maybe there is a website i don’t know about. I would even settle for korean videos.

What i would like to see is Air PvP, Rifting, Dueling, Solo Encounters and Group PvP. Even testing videos of new Stigma Builds *cough* Aegis *cough*… sorry, been sick lately ^^’

I know it’s a pain to make this videos, and i know some times it’s even harder to get some inspiration to do the editing work, but they don’t have to be edited at all. /sigh

I’m going to start by sharing one that i found in youtube (recently added), it’s a duel between a lvl 50 cleric and lvl 50 SM. To be honest i don’t quite understand why the cleric wasn’t doing anything but running around in circles and not attacking, but after a closer look i think maybe it’s because an SM with 1800 MR can’t be touch by clerics at all? *-*

Im having a problem with the aion client.

I just got myself a new pc, and i dont have promlems of any kind in my old one with vista. My new pc has windows 7. Im usuing the same download client i used with my old pc. Installed and Updated but during the update i keep getting update errors "like it seems everybody else is getting" never the less after a couple retries it seems to update till 1.5.1.10 but when i try to play this is what happens.

stays like that for 5 secs and then i get a "You have been disconnected from the Server" message.

A friend of mine told me maybe its file corruption and i should try to copy my aion folder (from the old pc) to the new one.. I did and it worked… kinda… even though i can play… when i talk to the broker NPCs or any NPC i get a random disconnect. Its a weird one even…. for like 10 secs i cant talk not use skills… but i can see pp talking and moving and using skills THEN i get disconnected. Happens all the time.. but most of the time has to do with the broker and NPCs.

Also noticed that my "You have discovered this and that" messages on my screen, have some distorted characters at the end of the sentence. My old PC still works fine tho.

My question is… is it Windows 7? client? why after several instals/updates same thing happens again? any1 else with the same problem? how can i narrow down the problem? I really want to fix this.

I don’t know if anyone see this already, the video itself isn’t amazing at all, but the idea behind it made me laugh out loud.

I’m re-rolling an SM asmo and i’m trying to plan some things ahead (thanks to my previous experience as an elyos).

First thing would be PvPing, Guard Farming, Lower Instances Running a LOT more than i did and try and go for the lvl 30 Elite PvP Armor (trying to get the boots first). Now my concern would be the weapon.

Between lvl 30 and 40 there is only two weapons with casting speed. The Elite 30 gold pvp tome, and the Hirmilden Tome. Knowing this im comparing this weapons with weapons of similar level range (ok… some have more than a few levels of diference), I’m trying to get a good weapon thats gonna be an awesome stepping stone before Fenris or PvP 50 Elite, or Anunhart w/e.

Here is the link of most of the weapons i could find at those levels and my question is… How much HP, MB, MA would you give up for that 11% casting speed boost? Making the Shrewd Tome +10 would cost around 2kk kinah, and the Hirmilden’s Tome around 6kk Kinah, getting the Elite 30 Tome would cost 200k+ AP (i could just get PvP boots and then save for the book, depending on how the AP flows).

I’m getting the Shrewd Tome for sure, so the question would be… What books or book (considering Effort/Gain) should i use as stepping stones for 50 and through a lot of my grinding at 50? Considering its a lot more easy to Over-Enchant lower level books.

I feel like making a twink these days, and i actually like playing sorcs, so i was wondering if a twink sorc would be any good. Probably it would have to be lvl 31 or 34.

Taking that into account. What do you think about it? Its gonna be in almost full Daevian set and crafted lvl 33 Speed boots. (Dont feel like making another alt). Alrdy have a good book +10.

Im trying to find HP+MA jewels but is really hard… and crafted gear sucks at those two together so im trying to buy drops. If i cant find any then ill craft jewels with HP on it.

What do you think? Sounds good? Horrible? HP/MA? Suggestions? or do you think it would be soo bad that i should just go for another class.. and why.

Im a lvl 48 SM (49 in one more bub) elyos side, and i love summoner classes. Dont flame me but i loved Warlocks in WoW, the fact that i can DoT up some1 and watch their health just drop while i dance, or using my pets cool and unique attacks was awesome. The control.. oh the control… nothing like CC skills on anyone coming my way. I also played summoner clases in L2 and love them also.

When i started playing AION i knew i was going to be SM… Just look at those pets… FINALLY diferent pets with very cool looks. and big a** too; and from that moment on it’s been a love ride with him… Till now.

Idk… i came to this game because of the cool graphics, new generation MMO style, and PVP in air. And when i pvp with my SM in the air…. it feels soooooooooooooooo weird… even uncomfortable and awkward. Idk what it is exactly. My group at 44 was pvping with this SM in the abyss and he was 50. had IP and Spirit Substitution… and even though we couldn’t kill him… he couldn’t kill us even tho we didn’t had a healer. His damage was very very lack luster. The non scaling thing bothers me too. The fact pets seems to be a non factor in air… I mean i want to play a pet class, and pets seems sooooooo.. meh. Some times i love them… usually in PvE. But idk idk idk…. I think im hitting my middle age crisis at 49… Right now sorcs seem like my obvious reroll. I like magic users chars.

Maybe im just getting weird out.. But seems like is in everything… PvP gear doesnt really affect us that much.

Idk… im sorry if i dont sound logical. But is a rant never the less. Do you guys at one point felt like this? Anything you can tell me? Maybe this is a flame magnet… ill just ignore those replies.

Ok here ’s the deal. Im about to hit 46 and so far my plan is to grind my brains out doing Plat coins for EXP and Kinah (im gonna sell them) and/or doing full SR runs all the time. Eventually im going to do the Miragent Quest and maybe… MAYBE some crafting… im still pondering if crafting is worth it at all (tailoring). I’ll probably need to get some AP to buy the advance stigmas, so i’ll probably farm guards or just go PvP with my legion.

Now since i only have 6 mil kinah T_T, what dop you guys think i should prioritize (stigmas wise), Since i have 5 stigma slots right now… and i guess im gonna get the number 6 tomorrow in SR.

What kind of setup would you recommend? I need a multi purpose but more oriented to farming. Since im going to pvp just to get enough AP for the stigmas themselfs. Ill have to buy Spirit Recovery for Armor Spirit but i have all i need to use the Energies of Cyclone one. I’m guessing the bottom tree is not very farming friendly? Im even considering getting Bless of Fire because of all the grouping (it would have to be the lvl 42 one).

I kinda asked something similar a while back but i haven’t found peace yet.

I have a PvP Golden level 30 Ring (44k AP) it increases 1.4% (i think) damage to PCs. I already knew about that boost wont affect Orbs and Pets (omg why lordddd whyyyyy) *cough*, never the less i tested it out and yeah… it doesnt. Then i found a friend of mine with the golden level 30 PvP chain boots (58k AP) which give a 2.4% soacking damage from PCs… Naturaly i though the upside of my pets not getting affected by PvP dmg gear was they didnt get any dmg reduction from the gear either… I sended my orbs to my friend with boots and they did 219 dmg each hit. I told him to take the boots away and i did 223.

Now now, before you say anything the boots had 130 p def on them. thats around 1.1 damage reduction per hit. So without that p def my orbs should have hit for 220 maybe 221… yet they did more damage (like 2.4% more <.<).

This was just a small scale test and in no means complete proof, i just wanted to put it out here and ask for some help from the higher level guys.

Now that thats done, even though miragent set looks awesome just leveling to 50 and get all the money and quest done to get is gonna take me a lot more time than i though. I really want a gear upgrade.. im still wearing some greens and crappy blues with 3 mana slots, and gold gear seems soooo hard to drop, out of 20 mid SR runs the monkey only droped pants once and were chain.

What do you think about the cheapest golden level 3 PvP cloth gear for SM? I noticed they dont give HP at all.. And besidesthe fack they give 6 slots and PvP damage reduction the stats are useless… (but yet again we get soo little from them). Should i work for them? Or maybe a better PvP gear would be a lot better and not that expensive compared? Do you feal PvP gear is worth it for us? Are the mana slots worth enough? Or maybe pvp gear sucks so bad unless really high end gear, soi should just focus on leveling and get what i can from instances and just focus all my resources on getting the miragent gear?

Well I’ve been upset lately about my class (SM) this last couple days, but thats not the topic… I was so pumped because acording to most ppl in the forums Curseclowd is awesome, that you can kill pretty much a big group of ppl without a healer pretty easy.

I have a cleric friend which feels OP just to fight with her… She has over 3k kills, got her 54k AP boots at 34, she is very talented in pvp. Then as i was bragging about my skill i went to test it on a duel with a ranger friend. HE has 3.2k HP and survived… yeah he did… Just with herb treatment and instant pots. Went with a chanter friend and he didnt had any problems at all to keep his health at 80% all the time… Then my cleric friend came, and casted hers on the chanter and he was death before 25 secs have pass. I mean.. come onnnnn, we are the dot class… yet i’ve never seen die after me cos of my DoTs. Curseclowd does more or less the same damage but each 6 secs… while Word of Destruction does around the same damage but every 3 secs… interrupts every herb treatment, and overall does almost twice as much damage in 1 min <.<

This is not a Cleric nerf plz post… or something like that, even though the feel OP, i don’t want to believe it. My purpouse mainly is just vent out a little, and second to get some imput on what you guys think about this… I feel outraged that all our DoT can be easily dispelled with a spammable spell (even advance Stigma ones… even DP ones), and to make matters more ridonculous the do more damage with DoTs… now thats dissapointing.

What do you guys think?

PS: Not to mention DoT stacking issues just to keep it clean.

Pretty simple, I’m level 42. I need a gear goal… Everything seems to suck. PvP gear seems to only work for defense… my pets don’t get affected by it… and i can only afford the Gold level 30 that costs AP only or a few silver medals. I’ve check the tailoring gear and it’s painful to see how little it gives. Wise King Dragon Whatever…. +700 MP… seriously? +16 Flying time? <.< Besides that it seems i need to be rich to pass the expert quest then get ubber lucky to get the right design then craft 10 items worth 5 mill each and pray for a proc on an item with 5 slots and…. +700 mp <.<

I know there is mirage gear or something that looks awesome, but its hard to get all the quests, i though i could use a stepping stone. What do you guys aim for? We don’t really scale well with gear, and that complicates everything even more… What are your gear goals? Step by Step… not just say omg golden medals PvP gear. What is going to be your stepping stones?

And on that note… am i missing something about tailoring or it seems really bad as it LOOKS on aionarmory.

Im at level 40 here. Been farming the LC insignias so i can get the jewels, as far as i know there are no jewels that mach with these, at least in quests, or cheap handicrafting ones. But im having problems money wise. Im eating pots like mad specialy when im farming those same insignias. Every person i know my level, when i ask them how are they making money, they always say "selling insignias"… What do you think? So far as i know i havent s een any jewels with sooo much HP (not even 50 quest rewards) and M ACC. Should i get the necklace (the only one im missing) or should i star sell them.

About the pots issue, i decided to level up my gathering to 270 (to gather amalils) and to level up my aether-ing to 200 (to get aether gems and morph them into greater elemental stones). Now i need to level up my alchemy, but im starting to wonder if its worth it all the time im expending. I havent bough my sigil of silence stigma not because i cant gather 1 mill.. is because i seem to expend it really fast.

Ok, im elyos, and so far the only place that drops the Water Spirit III book in the Stenon Bay in Heiron. Im level 40 and as usual i go one level before hiting the level i need for a spirit to farm it. IT WAS HORRIBLE… the humanityyyyy *cough*

As i was saying OMG!!!, that place is horrible. I tried to use my earth pet to tank the contaminated water spirits and i barely managed to kill one, and my earth pet was at 2% of health after the fight. There is A LOT of invisible mobs all around me. Couldnt even kill the secon water spirit before i got ganked… by mobs…

The only water spirit III book in the broker is selling for 3kk. And right now my warehouse is just full of flies thx to all the pots im needing to chuck to kill one elite.
